As some of you know I have become involved with the nonprofit organization Spare PARTS by joining the board of directors as Treasurer. This awesome organization promotes sustainability through the arts and educational programs. One event we host each year is coming up and so I wanted to let everyone know how they can become involved to help out since nonprofits depend primarily on volunteers and donations.
Spare PARTS is seeking materials and supplies for its annual Big Materials Giveaway on March 26th. All of the materials collected will be sorted and made available for preK-12 educators who have registered for the sold-out event. Here is your chance to go through your art supplies and materials that are just collecting dust and pass them along so they can be fully utilized by students and teachers.
Beginning March 20 we will accept from the community donations of creative materials at Wonderland of The Americas (4522 Fredericksburg, 78201). We welcome items like office supplies, glue, scissors, paints, brushes, empty containers, magazines, markers, crayons, paper, holiday decorations, and so on!
Here are materials donation drop-off times:
Fri. March 20, 5pm-8pm
Sat. March 21, 9am-7pm
Sun. March 22, 9am-7pm
Mon. March 23, 5pm-8pm
Tue. March 24, 5pm-8pm
Wed. March 25, 5pm-8pm
Thur. March 26th, 10:30am-4:30pm

If you have some free time and are interested in volunteering during any of the donation drop off times to help set up and sort items you may so so during any of the donation drop off times in addition to the event time on Thursday (5-8pm). Please email email@example.com to sign up for that.
